Endovenous Laser Treatment

Overview

If you are suffering from painful varicose veins, you may be a good candidate for an EVLT procedure. This treatment for varicose veins is highly effective yet minimally invasive.

At Silhouette M, we carry out the EVLT procedure using Venacure, the latest generation in laser vein treatment. As a team, we have carried out hundreds of vein procedures. We’re highly focused on patient care, ensuring you feel confident, secure, and comfortable while under the care of any Silhouette MD doctors or staff members.

What is EVLT?

This ultrasound-guided technique used for treating varicose veins uses laser energy. During an EVLT procedure, a tiny (less than 1mm) laser fiber is inserted into the vein followed by an application of laser energy to heat and close the malfunctioning veins. EVLT usually takes 15 to 20 minutes.

EVLT is considered a “lunchtime treatment”, and most of our patients resume normal activities immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is recovery like?

EVLT is a virtually painless procedure and there is no recovery time required after the treatment. Most patients resume normal activities immediately after the treatment.

What is the success rate of an EVLT procedure?

Clinical studies have shown a success rate of 98%.

Is the cost of my treatment covered by insurance?

EVLT is covered by most insurance plans.

What can I expect after an EVLT procedure?

After an EVLT procedure, the symptoms of painful varicose veins will gradually disappear, and you will have a better quality of life and mobility. Treating symptoms of venous insufficiency also saves you from the risk of blood clots or other serious complications that can occur if varicose veins are left untreated.

Will the laser damage my skin?

No. Vascular lasers target the pigment in blood, so blood vessels are destroyed without affecting the surrounding skin.
